Wallet
Each Stellar account has a public key and a secret seed. Stellar uses public key cryptography to ensure that every transaction is secure. The public key is always safe to share - other people need it to identify your account and verify that you have authorized a transaction. The seed, however, is private information that proves that you own your account. You should never share the seed with anyone. It's a bit like the combination of a lock: anyone who knows the combination can open the lock. Likewise, anyone who knows the seed of your account can check your account.
To create a Stellar wallet, we will need to generate a set of keys that govern the wallet. So, we will have to activate the wallet. The activation of the portfolio is essentially done by financing the portfolio with some XLMs. This activation is mandatory by the Stellar network to prevent spammers from spamming the network with new accounts. Let's jump into:
1. First, you have to choose which method we will use to create our Stellar wallet.
2. New key pair: This is the least secure method and should only be used by experienced users. In this method, we will generate a key pair (public and secret keys). The secret key is EXTREMELY sensitive information (encrypted in the previous method). In this method it is your responsibility to store the secret key securely so that hackers cannot gain access to it. If a hacker gets to your secret key, you can empty your wallet.
3. After generating our wallet, you need to ACTIVATE the wallet. To activate the wallet, we need to fund it with some initial XLMs. There are two ways to do this: send some XLM to the wallet. If we use this method, we only need to send a payment to the public address of our wallet. Once payment is received, the wallet will be activated and we will be able to use it to interact with Stellar. If you use this method, it is recommended that you deposit at least 3 XLMs.
To add a trust line (....) using Stellarport: go to your Portfolio page
Go to the Sales page
Click "+ Trustline" (NOTE: this button will only appear if you have a non-zero XLM balance) add-trustline.PNG Choose the asset you want to keep (SEARCH) and add trust to (and then click Done)
